Movie: Crude
I saw it on: September 27, 2009
Genre: Documentary
MPAA Rating: NR
Synopsis: For decades, Texaco (now part of Chevron) wrecked havoc on the environment in Ecuador. They left behind a horror or polluted water and land. Ecuador natives filed a law suit in 1993 which is still being fought by the oil company. This movie chronicles the struggle to hold the oil company accountable.
My two cents: What Texaco – and now Equador’s oil company – has done to the environment is unbelievable. Almost as unbelievable is how the oil company executives and attorneys continue to deny their culpability.
