Movie: World’s Greatest Dad
I saw it on: September 6, 2009
Cast: Robin Williams, Daryl Sabara, Alexie Gilmore, Tom Kenny, Geoffrey Pierson
Genre: Dark Comedy
Synopsis: Robin Williams plays Lance Clayton, a miserably unhappy English teacher who is also a frustrated writer-wannabe. Lance has teenage son who has – to put it mildly – a chip on his shoulder. When a freak accident occurs, Lance is suddenly in a position to get his writing published – although not in his name. The movie follows Lance’s struggle to do the right thing.
My two cents: “Dark Comedy” is putting it mildly. Lance’s son may be the most annoying anti-social jerk of a son I have ever seen in a movie. After the first minute, I wanted to kill this kid myself.
Not one of Robin Williams better movies. I guess I just did not get it because I thought the ending was just plain stupid.
